How to Draw Flames Step by Step

Step by Step Guide

Drawing flames is quite easy. A few swirly lines manage to do the trick every time. However, some people make these drawings more difficult than they need to be. Hence, I have taken it upon myself to show you that flame drawing need not be difficult. And with my technique, you can learn how to draw flames with ease.

Star with a few curves from the right and proceed to the left. Add some layers and a few sparks. Finally, get coloring. And your flames are done.

Start from the right

Draw a few curves with sharp edges.

Now the left

Do the same for the left side.

Go inside

Start sketching the inner flames.

Do both sides

Keep the edges sharp just like before.

Go deeper

This one is farthest into the flames.

Keep going

You are doing great so far.

Darken the outlines

Use a sharp pencil for this.

Add a few sparks

Show small flame sparks flying out of the raging flame.

Final touches

You are almost done.

Coloring time

Use shades of red, orange, and yellow to color the flames.
