An open book looks very different than a closed book. You need to add some depth to that drawing. That is where many people struggle the most. Hence, I have come up with this approach. It is easy to follow and retrace. So if you are struggling to draw an open book, you can use my approach.
Start with the folded section and then do the rest of the book. Mark the other pages, add a bit of writing, and put a bookmark. Finally, color the drawing and you are done.
Draw it in the shape of a slightly skewed rectangle.
Repeat the process for the right side too.
Draw it underneath the folds to show the depth of your drawing.
A simple outline underneath the book should do the trick here.
Add horizontal lines across the folds.
Simply scribble a few lines.
This will make things more accurate.
Use a sharp and bold pencil for this.
The open book drawing is ready. Now you just have to color.
