How to Draw An Elephant Step by Step

The elephant is a magnificent beast. Its large size also makes it quite easy to draw. If you can get the basic outline right, the rest of the details becomes quite easy to work on. But I understand if you cannot manage to draw them. Unless you get a bit of practice, you may not be able to draw it properly. So in case you need a bit of guidance, you can check out the way I draw an elephant.

To draw an elephant, start with the head and then body. Sketch the trunk and the ears. Keep the ears big. Finally, color the drawing, and you are done.

Start with the head

It is shaped like a human head.

Do the trunk

Keep it long, and wide near the end.

Next the ears

The ears are big and flat.

Now the body

The elephant has a big body with a bulky looking tummy.

Add the feet

Draw the legs of the elephant.

Highlight the tail

Draw some details on the tail.

Next the mouth

Put a smile on the face of your elephant.

Now the eyes

The eyes are big and they look happy.

Final touches

Let us do the outline again with a darker pencil.

Color it

Use some light colors for your elephant.
