How to Draw An Astronaut Step by Step

I have always had a deep admiration for astronauts, so much that I would draw them whenever I had the option or chance. At first, it was difficult to draw them. However, with a bit of practice, I managed to get it right. In fact, I developed my own approach to drawing astronauts, something that might interest you in drawing them as well.

I draw the astronaut using a top to bottom approach with minor details here and there. I then use some light colors, or simply sketch the drawing with a pencil.

Start from the top

Draw the head. Keep it round but a bit flat near the bottom.

Draw the helmet

Give the circle a double outline and draw a pair of headphone like covers on the ears.

Now the front

Sketch the front cover black.

Now the bodysuit

Give it a bulky look.

Add the arms

The arms are long and wearing gloves.

Add the center

Draw a rectangle on the chest.

Add some pipes

Connect the pipes from the center to the back.

Final touches

Use a dark pencil for this.

Coloring time

Drawing is done. Let us now color the astronaut.
