How to Draw An Alligator Step by Step

Step by Step Guide

The alligator is a pretty easy animal to draw. However, I know that many of you have trouble drawing it. That is understandable, because I too had problems drawing alligators. But with constant practice, I have progressively become better at it, and am sure you will learn a lot by observing my drawing process.

Start with the tail and then the body. Next you draw the legs and add the details, before getting started with the coloring.

Start with the tail

Draw it like an S shape with a sharp tip.

Now the body

It is almost the same length as the tail.

Next the legs

Keep the legs small.

Draw the other legs

These ones are at the back.

Add some details

Use a light pencil to do so.

Next comes the eyes

They are round. Draw the mouth and teeth as well.

Now the scales

Keep the scales pointy.

Final touches

Use dark pencil for this.

Coloring time

The drawing is ready. Now let us color our alligator.
