How to Draw A Watermelon Step by Step

Watermelons are super easy to draw. It is all about the shape really, and getting that right will do. In case you want to get a bit more creative, you are going to have to do so with the overall arrangement, and colors, which is what I personally focus on. To draw a watermelon, I first draw a simple slice, and then the whole fruit. The colors pop better with the red, and the green helps too. The cut slice with the whole fruit is a good look for the arrangement.

Start with a slice

Draw an inverted V.

Give it a 3D look

Draw a slanting line behind it.

Do the base

Add a curve under the V.

Give it a double outline

Add a second outline to the curve.

Now the whole fruit

Draw a circle behind the slice.

Start designing

Draw some curvy lines on the watermelon.

Keep them coming

Draw some more lines.

And a few more

Keep things clean and simple.

A few more

Just a few more lines and you will be done.

Now do the seeds

Small dots on the slice of watermelon will work as the seeds.

Final touches

Use a dark pencil to add the finishing touches.

Now we color

Time to color the watermelon and give it a juicy look.
