The structure of a pine cone might make it seem difficult to draw, but trust me that is not the case. If you take away the rough detailing, the structure is rather simple, and no different than that of any other type of fruit. However, if you are still confused regarding it, you can check out the steps I personally follow to draw pine cones.
To draw a pine cone, I start with the basic outline and do the sharp edges right away. Following up, I take care of the inner detailing with a light pencil and keep repeating the design throughout the drawing.
Draw an oval with sharp edges.
Use a light pencil to draw the zigzag patterns.
This time use a dark pencil.
Place it lying next to the first one.
Repeat the designs for the new pinecone.
You already know what to do.
Use a light pencil to do the leaves.
The edges of the leaves are straight and sharp.
This time for the other pinecone.
You are doing great so far.
Use a dark pencil to do the final outlines.
The drawing is done. Time to color it.
