If you want to learn how to draw a lion, but do not know where to start, do not worry. Over the years, I have practiced and practiced, and have eventually managed to master the technique of drawing lions. Although it seemed difficult at first, I slowly got the hang of it. Soon enough, I was drawing lions freehand and with absolute ease. And I bet you too will be able to do it.

To draw a lion, you start with the head. And before working on the body, you have to do its mane. That is very important for the lion drawing. Once that is done, you just have to get done with the body and then color it.

Start with the face

Draw the upper part of the face.

Keep at it

Next draw the lower part.

Add the mane

Draw the hair around the lion’s head. Make it look bushy.

Next the ears

Draw them like you would draw the moon.

Time for the body

Use a light pencil to draw the body.

Add the tail

Keep it thin and a bit long.

Now the paws

Use a dark pencil to mark the paws.

Draw the eyes of the lion

Give them an oval shape.

Final touches

Use a dark pencil to draw the finishing touches.

Color the lion

The drawing is done. Now you just have to color it.
