I find koalas to be very adorable. They have this sweet vibe to them that is clearly visible on their faces. While drawing a koala, I too try to incorporate the cuteness in my drawings. At first, however, I could not do so. But with some practice, I learned that the best way to do so is by keeping the drawing as simple as possible. And if you to try to follow this approach, I bet your koala drawings are going to turn out great too.

We draw our koala on a branch. The head and body are comparatively small. There is subtle cuteness on its eyes. We keep the details simple and draw them with a light pencil. Finally, after drawing, we get to the coloring part.

Start with the background

Draw a small branch for the koala to sit on.

Draw the head

Keep the koala’s head small like an egg.

Add ears

The ears are drawn to look fluffy.

Then the body

Show the body hugging the tree branch.

Add some small details

Use a light pencil to work out these small details.

Draw a nose

Draw the nose in the shape of a blunt triangle. Add a small fluffy tail as well.

Add the eyes

Draw the eyes oval in shape and a bit big.

Sharpen the outlines

Add the finishing touches to your koala drawing.

You are done

The drawing is done. Now you just need to color it.
