The easiest way to draw a hand is by simply placing your own on a piece of paper and drawing the outline around it. This approach, however, is not that effective. There are many other ways you can draw a hand. I, for instance, follow a simple step by step approach to draw hands. And if you would like, you can use the technique I follow and draw a hand.

To draw a hand, we start with the thumb. Next, we move over to the palm and then the other fingers. Afterward, we work out some of the other details like the nails, and maybe a ring. Finally, we use a dark pencil to add the finishing touches and complete our drawing.

Start with the thumb

Keep it short and a bit wide near the end.

Draw the palm

Next you draw the palm of the hand.

Now the fingers

Draw them proportionately, and evenly spaced.

Next the nails

The nails are long on this hand.

Add a ring

The ring finger is wearing a ring.
