How to Draw A Flamingo Step by Step

The flamingo is a majestic bird. It has a graceful appeal and a charming vibe to it. If you want to draw a flamingo, you must make sure that these appeals are present in your drawing. In case you are not aware of how you can in corporate these things in your drawing, you can follow the steps I follow to draw a flamingo.

To draw a flamingo, I start with the main body, then add its graceful long neck. Next, I do the long thin legs and the wings pressed against the body. Finally, when all this is done, I work out the last few details on the wings, and start coloring the bird.

First the body

The flamingo’s body has a whistle like shape.

Draw the head and neck

Give the flamingo a graceful ‘S’ shaped neck and a head on top of it.

Start drawing the legs

Remember to use a light pencil for this.

Draw a leg

The leg is long and thin.

Draw the other leg

This leg is also long and is bent towards the first one to form a reverse ‘4’ shape.

Deepen the outlines and add the beak

Use a dark pencil to darken the outlines. Draw the beak as well.

Add some details

Do the details on the flamingo’s beak.

Draw the feathers on the wings

The feathers are basically small scribbles.

Final touches

Use a sharp pencil to put the finishing touches.

Color it pink

Give your flamingo a nice shade of pink.
