When I was young, I’d repeatedly try to draw dresses and fail. I eventually told myself that I couldn’t do it, since I was no fashion designer. Soon enough, however, I taught myself how to draw dresses by observing a few drawing tutorials. After that, I found drawing dresses to be quite easy. And if you too, like me, are having difficulties in drawing dresses, I recommend you sit yourself down and replicate the steps I use to draw my fancy gowns and dresses.
The steps to drawing a dress are very simple. You start with the main body’s structure, add the sleeves, belt, and other necessary accessories. Then, once all the details are there, you simply color it. And your dress is ready.
Draw the dress in the shape of a volcano, or a bottle top.
It is drawn in a messy and curvy sort of way.
The sleeves are kept short.
Run this design on the front top side of the dress.
It is drawn across the upper fold of the dress.
This one is drawn on the skirt part.
The details are added to the designs to make them look realistic.
Without the bow, the dress would look incomplete.
You are almost there.
Use a dark pencil to add the final touches to your dress.
Give the dress a light and happy color. Make it look festive.
