If you want to draw a dragon but don't know how to approach it, don't worry, because I think I can help you out. In the past, when I first got into art and drawing, I was really fascinated by dragons. These mythical beasts amazed me to the point that I felt like drawing them. Sadly, however, I had a hard time drawing them, until I eventually worked out my own steps to draw them. Now, I find dragons very easy to draw, and I think you too will feel the same way once you try out my approach.
To draw a dragon, we take a top to bottom approach. The body is a bit bulky, and the entire structure is huge as well. Once all the details are there, we add a final outline to the drawing before coloring it.
The head, if you look closely, looks like a small duck or chick.
The neck is a bit long and ends on the shoulders of the dragon.
Give your dragon a short but bulky body.
The tail is thick, but it gets thinner near the end.
Add a small flame on the tail’s end.
Use a dark pencil to sharpen the outlines.
Add a few triangular scales on the dragon’s tail.
The wings are big and sharp.
Draw the eyes and nose of the dragon with a light pencil.
Almost done. Just add a few final touches.
The dragon’s body gets a light blue color, and the fire on its tail is bright orange and yellow.
