How to Draw A Dinosaur Step by Step

Step by Step Guide

The thought of drawing a dinosaur may seem daunting at first. After all, it’s a beast we don’t usually see that often, apart from cartoons or fictional films. However, drawing a dinosaur is really easy, especially if you follow a step by step approach. I have my own way of drawing these fearsome creatures, and as far as people have told me, the way I draw a dinosaur is really easy to follow and replicate.

To draw a dinosaur, we need to start with its head, and long neck. We keep the body bulky, and give it some spikes. Finally, after some light detailing, we’ll finishing the drawing by giving our dinosaur some nice colors.

Draw the head and neck

The head is drawn small and the neck is quite long

Draw the body

Draw a bulky body for our little dinosaur.

Add the small details

Draw the two feet behind the body, which are basically its right feet.

Add some spikes

Draw a few triangular spikes on the back of the dinosaur.

Show some detailing

Use a light pencil to do all the small details.

Draw the face

Give the dinosaur its eyes, mouth, and nose.

Finishing touches

Use a dark pencil to work out the final touches on the dinosaur.
