Drawing a dead tree is quite easy, but if you want to make it look artistic, you need to know how to draw it the right way. There are many known techniques for drawing dead trees, but the one I follow is a stepwise approach. It’s a very basic technique yet it still manages to incorporate that artistic vibe you want to see in such drawings. The best thing about it is that it’s a beginner’s level tutorial, and anyone can give it a shot.
To draw a dead tree, we start with the trunk, and make our way to the branches. The key is to draw a lot of dead branches but not to make it look overwhelming. Lastly, we add a few marks across the trunk, and a final dark outline to sharpen the image.
Draw the lower left side of the trunk.
Finish drawing the lower part of the trunk.
The branches are drawn thin and using a light pencil.
Add a few more branches in a similar manner.
Just draw the branches as you were.
You are doing great so far. Keep going.
You are almost done with the branches.
You are now done with the branches.
Use a dark pencil to give the drawing a sharp look.
Draw the marks on the tree’s trunk.
Just give your drawing some final touches and finish it off.
Your dead tree drawing is done. Now you just have to color it.
