Introduction
Painting poppies is quite easy, as long as you know where to start. This is where a lot of us fall short; we don’t know where or how to begin the process. But don’t worry, I’ve been here quite a few times to know where it all goes, and hence, I took my preparations, and listed down some amazing tutorials on how to paint a poppy. These tutorials are very helpful, and there’s something here for everybody. You just need to pick the one that suits you best.
There are three ways to paint a poppy. There’s the easy way for beginners, which is simple, and doesn’t require much experience to work on. Then there’s the intermediate way, for a slightly detailed painting. Finally, there’s the advanced or professional way, which works on realistic painting, detailed designs, and an overall smooth finish.

This video tutorial will show you an easy process of painting poppies. The artist here uses acrylics to paint the poppies, and does so with a palette knife. You can ditch the palette knife, and opt for a simple brush if you like. There’s nothing complex about this painting, and it can be very easily done even if you’ve never painted anything before.

This video tutorial is a detailed guide by Feliks on how to paint a gorgeous poppy field during sunset. The flowers may lack details, but it’s the overall environment of this painting that makes it so amazing. The whole setting has a nice depth to it. Although this painting is not so difficult to work on, I still think you’d be better off with this process if you’re somewhat familiar with acrylic painting.

This video tutorial shows us how to paint a close-up of a poppy. The painting here is very realistic. It has this vibrant and colorful appeal, and has amazing work of depth and color shading. You can feel this painting popping right out of your screens. This is a very difficult piece to work on. It requires a lot of precision and accuracy, and hence, I recommend you try this only if you’re experienced with acrylics, or want to take this on as a challenge.

This video tutorial is specifically designed for kids. It shows you an easy and simple process of painting poppies. The artist here uses acrylics, but you can use watercolors as well if you want. That being said, it’s still an easy painting to work with, if you follow the steps mentioned in the video.

The flower featured in this painting lacks proper shades and details. It’s a simple and straightforward approach, and is perfect for beginner level artists. I think this painting would’ve looked even better if the artist had included a few shades into the mix. The lack of transitioning colors makes this painting look a bit off. But given that it’s a beginner’s level tutorial, you can ignore all those missing features.

The coloring is very neatly done, and although not vibrant, it makes for a really appealing look. I really enjoyed painting this art piece. Not only is it satisfying to paint something in this manner, but it also gives you some amazing results if you do it right.

Quite similar to the process we’ve just seen, this painting uses watercolors to create a fantastic picture of abstract poppy flowers. This painting is very easy to work with. If you’re new to watercolor painting, I recommend you start with this. It’ll help you learn a thing or two about watercolor painting, and will also help understand how the transitions in shades are different here compared to acrylics or oil painting.
