Introduction
The patterns on the wings of a butterfly is what makes it look so stunning. I’ve always been fascinated by these patterns, so much that I felt like painting butterflies. In order to get a better understanding of the approach I should be taking to paint them, I did some quick research, and got a few YouTube painting tutorials to help me out. If those videos could help me learn how to paint a butterfly, there’s no reason as to why they can’t help you.
The key to painting butterflies is to make sure the patterns on their wings are always in focus. That way, you’re drawing attention to their most flamboyant feature. Hence, you should give special emphasis on those wings, and make sure they stand out in the painting.
Colorful Acrylic Butterflies
Instead of adding more details on the wing patterns, this painting focuses on the color palette of the entire artwork. In this painting, you can see a bit of green, blue, violet, orange, yellow, and a few other colors. The artist here plays with these colors to create this magnificent work of art. It’s an easy painting to work on, and you can get it done within a couple of hours max.

This one doesn’t bother painting the butterflies at all, as it goes for a silhouette look on the overall artwork. The girl in the middle, as well as the butterflies, are painting in black to make them look like silhouettes. The majority of the work is done in the background, which portrays a beautiful sunset that colors the sky red.

This painting showcases butterflies flying in a tornado like pattern. It’s quite an aesthetic painting, and is gorgeously arranged. The composition is beautiful as well. This colorful artwork is also quite easy to do. You’ll be able to replicate it with ease if you’re somewhat experienced in painting. Painting this beautiful piece felt therapeutic to me.

Feliks is one of the most inspirational artists on YouTube. In this video tutorial of his, Feliks shows us the process of painting flowers with butterflies. The video is quite detailed, and is targeted towards artists who’re at an intermediate or advanced level. In this tutorial, you’ll get to learn a lot about coloring in terms of perspective, and how to make your work look realistic.
