Bubbles are some of the easiest things to draw. You don’t really need any special technique or approach to draw them. But even so, I can understand that many of you will want to observe how others draw bubbles, before you try it out for yourselves. For you guys, and you guys only, I dug deep into YouTube, and listed down some amazing tutorials on how to draw bubbles in an easy way.
Just draw a few circles, add a bit of light and shade effect, and you’ve got yourselves a nice drawing of bubbles. It’s as simple as that. The process might vary from person to person, but the basics will always remain the same no matter what.
This video, although not exactly the type of tutorial you’d have expected, is still quite fascinating to watch, and has a lot to offer in terms of bubble drawing knowledge. This speed drawing video shows you how to draw realistic looking soap bubbles. The idea that goes behind the creation of such bubbles is to show them reflecting light. This is what makes these bubbles look a bit realistic.

If you’re not that eager to draw detailed bubbles, or show them reflecting light and giving them a realistic look, you could just draw them plain and simple. Here, in this tutorial, you’ll see how to draw bubbles that are basically just circles. Instead of adding shades or reflections, the artist here just scribbles a few lines on the bubbles which are, I assume, supposed to be the light being reflected from them.

The bubbles drawn in this tutorial start off as basic circles, and the outlines of these bubbles remain the same throughout the drawing, meaning that the artist doesn’t really fiddle with the shape. Instead, we see the artist giving these bubbles a realistic appearance with their amazing sketching skills. The shading, and shadow that accompany every bubble is what makes this artwork so amazing.

At first glance, this drawing of soap bubbles will definitely seem difficult to you. In fact, I too was startled by the approach taken by the artist in drawing these bubbles. But once I tried it out by myself, I felt more comfortable, and realized that it’s easier than it looks. Although it’s an easy process, there are a lot of steps involved in making the bubbles look lifelike. Hence, make sure to go through this tutorial thoroughly before you start working on this drawing.

The ideal way to draw water bubbles is to first draw the outline, and then do a bit of shading inside the bubble showing the reflection of light. This is exactly the approach that the artist in this video tutorial follows. By now, you pretty much know how to proceed with these drawings. But I thought I’d give you a little more idea as to how people use this technique to draw bubbles.

When I first looked at this drawing, I thought it was an artwork of a crystal ball or something. Of course, that wasn’t the case, and this turned out to be the drawing of a crystal like bubble. This drawing is so neatly done, that you too might think that it’s more of a crystal ball than a bubble. It’s clean, well-drawn, and looks quite realistic. In fact, this is one of the finest bubble drawings I’ve seen till date.

In order to make a bubble, or any other drawing look 3D, you need to ensure two key things. First, you should fix an imaginary light source, and shade your drawing accordingly. Then, with respect to that light source, you’ll have to add a shadow effect to your drawing. The artwork you see below has been done following the same approach, and although it may seem difficult at first, it’s actually quite easy to draw.

With this drawing tutorial, we go back to the absolute basics, and draw bubbles in a plain and simple manner. I prefer calling this bubble drawing technique the caricature or cartoon approach, mostly because these are the types of bubbles you’d see in comics or 2D cartoon shows. Nevertheless, it’s still quite nice to work with, especially if you’re into caricature.

This realistic and 3D bubble drawing technique is quite similar to the ones above. There isn’t much to do here in terms of the drawing itself. But as usual, you’ll need to focus your attention on the sketching and shadow effects. This drawing is more or less suited for anyone, especially if you’re new to 3D sketching. If you’re not interested in using color pencils, you could just go ahead and sketch the whole thing with a normal pencil instead.

Pencil sketches are quite difficult to do, if I’m being honest. Things feel more complicated when you’re aiming for a realistic pencil sketch. You have to draw, sketch, erase a few portions, and keep repeating the process till you get your desired output. In this video tutorial, you’ll be doing the same thing, except this time, it’ll actually feel easy. This step by step guide to drawing realistic bubbles is quite amazing. It incorporates all the things you need to do in order to make a sketch look realistic, and yet you won’t find it to be difficult at all.
