It wasn’t until recently that I learnt the differences between a swan drawing, and a drawing of a duck. I came to know of these differences by observing a few tutorials on how to draw a swan, and this helped me to perfect my swan drawings. If you too are confused like I was, and want to bring perfection to your swan drawings, I recommend you do what I did, and study those very tutorials.
You draw a swan the same way you’d draw a duck, but with a few changes. The neck on a swan is much longer, and has this graceful appeal to it. The body of the swan is also bulkier in comparison to the duck. Once you’ve got these differences figured out, you just need to add the small details on the face and the wings, and you’re done with your swan drawing.
This video tutorial for kids will take them through a simple and easy process for drawing swans. As this tutorial is specifically aimed at absolute beginners, the drawing somewhat resembles a duck, which is easier to draw, and is then altered in the neck region to give it the appearance of a swan. Kids can just draw the outline for a duck, and draw a longer neck to create the swan. This tutorial is as simple as that.

The overall process for drawing something like this is very easy. The tutorial will guide you through the whole process in a stepwise manner. Hence, you can just follow the steps, and try to replicate the original piece.

This drawing would look perfect on a handmade Valentine’s day card. It’s super easy to draw, and doesn’t require any complex drawing techniques. You start by drawing the heart at the center, and then the swans around it. Or, you could even do it the other way round. It’s not the best swan drawings that I’ve seen, but it certainly isn’t the worst.
