Introduction
Do you want to draw a horse, but don’t know where to start? Fear not, because it isn’t just you who’s facing this dilemma. Being mesmerized by the shear elegance of this magnificent beast, I too tried my luck in drawing horses. Sadly, I failed. However, I did get better at it eventually, thanks to a handful of tutorials I found on YouTube. I think you too could benefit from such video lessons on how to draw a horse.
There are two ways to draw a horse. There’s the freehand drawing, where you simple just start drawing the horse, and avoid using any basic shapes or gridlines in your drawing. This is mostly for advanced learners. Then there’s the stepwise approach where you use these gridlines to give the horse its natural shape. The latter is mostly used by beginners, and those who prefer following a step by step drawing process rather than just going in all hands free.

Sketching a realistic horse is indeed a difficult task, especially if you’re not sure how you should be proceeding with it. Hence, I recommend you check out this tutorial before you try to do so. It’s not a difficult horse sketch to work on, but will require a bit of effort from your end. That being said, it’s still a very easy process, and as a beginner, you’ll feel really comfortable with it.

This line drawing of a horse has a nice finish to it. It’s what you can call smooth, and sublime. The artist didn’t bother to put in much details, but she still managed to nail the drawing. This tutorial is ideally targeted towards beginners, but I think even intermediate or advanced learners can learn a thing or two from this video.

The process is quite easy, although I think the drawing could’ve been a bit more detailed. As a beginner, you won’t find anything wrong with it. But if you’re somewhat experienced in pencil drawing, this may not appeal to you. Hence, you could go ahead and apply some of the other drawing techniques we’ve discussed so far.

The Trojan horse is part of one of the greatest Greek mythologies ever told. In this tutorial, you’ll get to see how you can easily draw the famous Trojan wooden horse. Like the original design, depicted in books, this drawing uses sharp edged lines, and avoids the typical natural curves you’d usually see on a horse. The drawing is not that detailed, but I don’t mind, and neither should you, because the original one wasn’t that detailed either.
