If you want to learn how to draw a hand, but don’t know where to start, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. While the hand is a vital part of the human body, as well as a vital component of any human sketch or drawing, I understand that many of you face difficulties in drawing it properly. I’ve been there as well. Like many of you, I too would mess up the proportions, end up making the hand look artificial, and just make a mess out of the whole drawing. Luckily, I was able to improve my hand drawing skills by studying a few hand drawing tutorials. These videos have helped me develop my hand drawings, and I’m certain that they can help you out as well.
To draw the hand, you first divide the entire drawing into three parts, namely the fingers, the wrist, and the rest of the hand. The fingers are very tricky to draw, and this is where you’re likely to mess up the most. The proportions need to be perfect here. Next comes the wrist, which has to be structured and sized according to the proportions of your fingers. Finally, you draw the rest of the hand, which won’t take much effort in comparison to the fingers and the wrist.
This video tutorial will show you how to draw a hand in three different poses, namely the hanging hand pose, the closed fist, and the open palm. Each drawing is to be approached differently, since they vary from one another in terms of their poses. The tutorial is ideal for beginners and intermediate learners. The drawings aren’t that detailed, but are still quite nice to look at.

Like the first tutorial, this video too will show you how to draw different hand poses. But unlike the first tutorial, this one is much more detailed, and you can have a better understanding of how you can maintain the proportions, and make each hand look similar to one another, as if they were the same hand, but with different poses.

In order to make your hand drawings look natural, you need to ensure you’re showing the proper stress and strains on the hand muscles. Each pose creates a unique impact on the way the muscles are strained, and that’s what you’ll learn in this video. The artist will share insights as to how you need to show these things in your drawing, and how they can make the overall artwork look natural.

This hand drawing tutorial will show you how to draw a simple hand with a butterfly flying over it. The main focus for this drawing should be the wrist. The rest of the drawing is pretty straightforward. Observe how the artist starts the drawing, and which elements are drawn out first. If you can ensure the accuracy on the wrist part of your drawing, the rest of the artwork will automatically look amazing.
